The NTSAA Concludes A Successful 2010 National Conference

Arlington, VA, February, 2010 - The National Tax Sheltered Accounts Association announces the conclusion of the 2010 Annual National Conference held this year in Indian Wells, CA from January 27 – 30.   The National Conference offers attendees interactive educational sessions specifically focused on the issues and concerns for professionals in the 403(b) and 457 marketplaces.

Christopher M. DeGrassi, NTSAA President and Assistant Vice President of Security Benefit kicked off the conference with a recap of the NTSAA accomplishments in 2009, including the NTSAA-ASPPA combination of operations.  Mr. DeGrassi announced the newly elected 2010 Leadership Council members:  S. Bruce Allen, Old Dominion Insurance & Investments, Inc.; David Blask, Lincoln Investment Planning, Inc. and Susan Diehl, PenServ Plan Services, Inc. Long-standing NTSAA member, Jill Snyder, was the recipient of the NTSAA Meritorious Service award.  During the opening session, Mr. DeGrassi introduced Brian Graff, ASPPA executive director and chief executive officer.  Mr. Graff addressed the strengths of the NTSAA-ASPPA combination, the additional benefits NTSAA members will receive under the combination and the 2010 goals and enhancements. More...

 

NTSAA Combines Operations with ASPPA

Arlington, VA, December 2009 – This week, members of the National Tax Sheltered Accounts Association (NTSAA) voted overwhelmingly in favor of combining operations with the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA). The combination, which takes effect in January, will provide enhanced benefits for members of both organizations.

NTSAA President Christopher M. DeGrassi stated that the new relationship brings together the best of both worlds: “ASPPA is the recognized leader in the private pension and employer-based marketplace. NTSAA is the leader in the non-profit 403(b) and 457 markets. By combining our operations, we now have professional education and advocacy in one place for all retirement plan professionals.” More....

NTSAA Board Votes Unanimously To Partner With ASPPA

On Thursday, October 29, 2009, the NTSAA Board of Directors voted unanimously to partner with the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA). ASPPA is highly regarded on Capitol Hill as a significant player in shaping Retirement Plan policy.   The ASPPA partnership would provide a "Voice in Washington" on issues relating to the non-profit 403(b) and 457 marketplace. Likewise, NTSAA would provide expertise on the non-profit 403(b) and 457 marketplace to ASPPA and its members.
 
Under the partnership, all NTSAA members would enjoy the current benefits of NTSAA membership.  Additionally, NTSAA members would receive all the benefits of ASPPA membership:

  • Access to world class educational and credentialing programs that build personal credibility and escalate career advancement
  • Benefit from an influential advocacy program that includes both professional and volunteer representation on Capitol Hill
